Proven effectiveness and rigorous scientific approach


Since 2018, more than 50,000 barrels have been protected with EBX-BARREL-PROTECT® under real-world conditions. 
Independent microbiological analyses have confirmed the reduction of spoilage flora during empty storage periods, even extended ones.

EBX-BARREL-PROTECT® is neither a preservative nor a disinfectant: it acts as a natural barrier that blocks microbial adhesion to the surface of the wood.  



Adhesion phenomena, well described in scientific literature—particularly in the FILMBRETT thesis—are based on polar interactions between microbial cell walls (notably those of Brettanomyces) and the internal surfaces of wooden containers.

It has been shown that certain triploid strains of Brettanomyces are capable of developing resistance to SO₂ 
(a phenomenon now detectable through specific tests such as TYP\Brett)
